Section of Food Sciences
The Institute for Food Sciences, the predecessor of Section of Food Sciences, was established on March 25, 2013. Because of its geographical and climatic conditions, Aomori Prefecture produces a wide variety of agricultural and marine products. The section carries out a wide range of food science researches including studies that contribute to the value of local agricultural and marine products, to the preservation and utilization of marine resources and to the development of new food production technologies. In addition, the section plays a role as a coordinator in the growth strategy for the food industry in northern Japan.
